Fran Kravitz

Fran is the owner and head teacher at The Actors Acting Studio. She began her study of acting in 1974 at the creative arts camp knows as Fiedel. She studied for several years with Ruth Persons, a participant in Lee Strassberg’s Group Theatre. During those formative years, Fran focused on live theatre and was in many independent and small theatre productions. Fran returned to the study of acting in 2004 with a focus on The Meisner Technique at The Ted Bardy Studio in NYC. From there she began auditioning and became a working actor. Her Meisner studies continued in New York City with James Franco, Studio4NYC, Michael Warner, and then most recently continuing with Larry Silverberg. She has also studied at the T. Schriber studios with Mr. Terry Schriber as well as with other teachers at that studio. Locally Fran began taking classes in Charlotte with Pat Dortch as the Dortch Studio.

Since moving to the Charlotte area, she has worked locally in commercials, and appeared in several locally filmed shorts and movies.  While in NYC Fran was in several regional commercials, appeared on TV and worked in over 30 film productions. She continues to work and audition as often as she is given the opportunity. Fran is represented by Fast Lane Talent in Charlotte and Brilliant Talent Management in New York and California.

When Fran isn’t on set, she is horseback riding or working in her garden and learning what grows well in the South rather than in the North.

Fran is excited to bring her years of Meisner experience to the Charlotte area to teach.
